Description
Ponduru, also called the Khadi village, is situated 30 km away from Srikakulum district of Andhra Pradesh. This is one of the only places where the single spindle charkha is still used for spinning. The Khadi™ cotton produced in this village has its own Geographical Handloom Identification tag.
These pure cotton sarees are characterised by temple borders with or without dobby. Contrast borders are woven in both cotton and silk and lend these sarees an unparalleled elegance and appeal. Khadi™ is a registered trademark owned by KVIC.
