From where do we source our handcrafted / handloom products?
We take utmost care in ensuring direct sourcing from the weavers/artisans. This is to ensure authenticity and fair practices, while sourcing. We handpick Artisans who are acclaimed, adept and very conscious of keeping the rich traditions alive and in no way dilute the heritage by using sustandard artificial materials / dyestuffs.
What is standard dimension (length / width) of Sarees sold online ?
Standard length of a Saree can vary from 4.5 m to 9 m. Handloom Sarees sold on Vemshala measure at least 5.20m without blouse-piece. The length of Saree varies from minimum of 5.3 mtrs to 5.5 mtrs due to the weaving pattern/style or the cluster it represents.
Width ranges between 44 inches to 45 inches.
Running Blouse-piece which comes attached with the Saree is of 75 to 80 cms in length.
Additional Blouse if sold as paired combinations, it measures 1 meter.

What is standard dimension ( length & width ) of a Dupatta?
Standard length of a dupatta can vary from 2.25 m to 2.5 m.
Width ranges in between 30 inches to 36 inches.
What is standard dimension (length and width) of Stoles ?
Standard length of a Stole can vary from 1.5 m to 1.8 m.
Width can be 20 inches or 22 inches.

What do we mean under Saree purchasing "Options" ?
Just Saree : Saree as listed. Please refer "Comes with Blouse Piece" to know if it comes with original Blouse Piece length. Length of such Saree is in the range of 6.3 meters to 6.4 meters with 70cms to 80 cms of Blouse length.
If the Saree "Comes without Blouse Piece", the length is in the range of 5.2 meters to 5.5 meters.

Fall Pico (FP): This is additional paid service. By practice, we remove Blouse piece and do Pico on the sides and attach Fall (Cotton rich) with Hand "hem". We do not go for Machine Stitch of Fall.

Do we remove Blouse Length while doing Saree Fall-Pico ?
Yes. To interlock the side with Pico, we always remove Blouse Length and send you the cut Blouse length alongwith your Saree.
Do we use Hand Hem / Machine Hem for attaching Saree Fall ?
We get Hand Hem to attach Saree Fall. We try to avoid Machine Hem while putting Saree Fall.
How long we take to ship if Fall Pico is opted for ?
Fall Pico: We take max 3 to 4 days to ship for items with Tag of "Delivery within : 3-4 days". These products are at our own warehouse.
For products with Tag of Delivery within : 3-4 days, you can expect to receive in 6-7 days max from the day, you placed the order with Fall Pico.
For products with Tag of Delivery within : 6-9 days, it may take 9-10 days to reach you with Fall Pico.
Reason: Products with Tag of Delivery within : 6-9 days are lying at our Weaver's facility. Oncde it reach to us, we do quality check and then go for Fall Pico.
How long we take to ship if Blouse Stitch service is opted for ?
Blouse Stitch : We take max 4 to 5 days to ship for items with Tag of "Delivery within : 3-4 days". These products are at our own warehouse.
For products with tag of "Delivery within : 3-4 days", you can expect to receive in 8-9 days max from the day, you placed the order with "Blouse stitching" option.
For products with Tag of Delivery within : 6-9 days, it may take 9-10 days to reach you with Fall Pico.

How much margins we keep for Blouse alterations stitched through us ?
We keep ample margins to take care of altering by even 1 inch length of Length (7), 2 inches round of Bust / Chest (4), Waist (5) of Blouse. To know more, please refer this link "Blouse Stitching".

How do we promote Sustainability and contribute towards Social Responsibilities?
As mentioned above, we are committed to strictly source 100% Handcrafted / Handmade / Handwoven products, directly from the Weavers / Artisans. We thus help Weavers/Artisans by providing financial assistance and work throughout the year.
How do you help protect nature by using minimal or no plastic materials?
Our packaging is vastly eco-friendly. Plastic packing material used, if any is recyclable. It's used only to protect your valuable items from flood / rains or any other water / liquid spillage during transit..
Do we keep Handloom / Khadi Products ?
Yes, most of our Sarees are made on wooden Handloom (Khaddi) . Due to cost implications and serious compliance requirements from GOI on usage of Khadi or Handloom marks, our weavers are unable to procure these marks.
Do we keep Silk mark fabric / Sarees ?
Yes. We do keep Silk Sarees with genuine Silk Mark Stickers / Tags. Again, most of the weavers consider these Tags as additional cost and avoid seeking such Marks / Certification from their respective certifying agencies.
Shipping & Returns
What Shipping Methods Are Available?
We always aspire to engage "Blue Dart, India's most respected courier company. This gives us assurance that your product are in safe hands. Their reliability is amongst the best.
They also deliver very prompty within the shortest time.
Due to your address in Tier 2 or Tier 3 cities, in case Bluedart is not having their services, we check/send with Delhivery. We also have XpressBees, ECom and a few other logistic partners.
Do we ship International?
We very much ship International to help you fulfil your desire to get the most authentic Hand Crafted goods from India.
All International shippings are only for Prepaid orders.
Shipment cost is extra. Local Inward Customs / VAT is additional. It takes usually 8-10 days to deliver any products.
All orders placed outside India has to be shipped to any International location. International payments are allowed for domestic shipping.
RBI / FEMA restricts USD or payments in International currency for India shipping orders. Such orders should have International shipping to your country and not India.
Typically, each country has its own Custom duty rates on articles being imported. The Customs/Import Duty hence varies from country to country and actual Tax rates varies for imported articles.
Our International shipping costs only include shipment fee and excludes Import duties and local port clearances charges as may be levied at your shipping destination, outside India. By placing an order with International destinations, you commit to accept your order and pay all additional inward / taxes levied by your country Customs department.
If we receive the packet upon your refusal, we will have no option but to deduct actual to and fro charges as paid to courier company by us and refund the balance.
Can I pay in foreign currency using foreign bank account and get delivery in India ?
Unfortunately, No.
International shipping / export is mandatory for all orders made from outside India using foreign bank accounts and paid in foreign currency.
RBI prevents domestic shipping for International money transfers.
We will have to cancel such orders if we get payments from foreign bank accounts and asking us to deliver in India.
Please use Indian bank account or NRE / NRO bank accounts for domestic shipping or ask your friends and relatives to shop for you in India using Indian bank accounts.
How can I know the applicable Import duties for our listed items ?
To set new benchmarks in our e-commerce Industry, we have tried putting up details on Import Duties on products which we sell on our website. Please refer to our International Shipping page to know more on the Import duties applicable in you shipping destination.
Can you make a request to get the order cancelled ?
Yes, your order can be canceled until, the product has been shipped.
Once the product has been received by our Courier partners and you get shipment details through our courier partners, it cannot be cancelled. If you wish to change your decision and decide not to accept the delivery and the product is returned as undelivered, we shall refund the amount paid to us after deducting two way courier costs. You will appreciate that we have to sustain ourselves and we are very much careful on managing our costs.
What if I may delivery address is found wrong and product is undelivered ?
If the packet is returned as marked “Wrong Address”, we will check with you before asking courier partner to return to us. If we are unable to deliver, we shall take the product back and refund the amount paid after deducting to-way courier costs incurred while sending and return of the product to our warehouse.
I want to return my purchase! What do I do?
We have “No Return Policy” for Handcrafted or Handwoven unstitched products. Please refer our Refund/Return Policy for more details.

What payment methods are accepted ?
Our Payment gateways enables you to make payments using UPI / BHIM, Credit Cards , Debit cards, Online / Internet Banking .

These payment modes are trusted and 100% secure.
As a rule, we don't save your payment details.
Can I place orders using Credit cards ?
Yes, one can use any type of Domestic / International Debit or Credit Card, at no extra costs.
Can I purchase on EMI's?
Yes. If your Credit Card / Debit cards / Pay later options like Simpl / Lazypay allows you EMI facility, you may opt for EMI payments using Razorpay or Payu Gateways.
Do you accept International credit cards ?
Yes. We accept International Credit cards payments using Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express ®, Diners Club®, Google Pay, Razor Pay, Paypal.
Do we take UPI payments from GPay / Paytm / BHIM / PhonePe, etc etc ?
Yes, our payment gateways allows Customers to use their domestic bank accounts and make UPI payments using most of the UPI platforms.
Do we take direct Bank transfers using NEFT / RTGS for domestic orders ?
Yes. You may have to contact us to know about of Bank particulars. We will send you image of Cancelled Cheque. Once we receive the payments, we will send you email confirming your order.
Do we take Bank Transfers for International orders ?
Yes, we take International Bank transfers using SWIFT.
Do you charge Customs / VAT on International shipments ?
All prices listed against products, excludes "International shipment charges" and any Import duties levied by destination countries.
International shipping charges are not included. It is additional.
International Shipping fees are levied at the time of final payment based on the number of items in your order.
Customs duty if asked by your country Customs officials, becomes payable at your end, at the time of receiving your order.
Do we provide Cash on Delivery options ?
Yes, we do provide an option of Cash on delivery for orders upto Rs 20000/= (Rupees Twenty Thousand only).
We will call / you or email you requesting to make pre-payment of Rs 300/= (Rupees Three Hundred only).
For COD, why we ask for token advance before shipping ?
We ask for advance pre-payment of Rs 300 only to prevent any last minute change by some Customers. We have seen rejections on some COD orders.
We end up paying Rs 300/= to the courier company and we are at a loss on such orders.
This pre-payment ensures that the Customer is genuine and not fake.
Blouse Stitching
Why are Blouse stitching charges different for some fabrics / Sarees ?
We have kept only two slabs.
Blouses without lining typically for Cottons, Powerloom / Machine loom Silk, Powerloom / Machine loom Silk Cottons, we stitch blouses without inner lining.
For all other fabric types, blouses are stitched with Cotton rich lining.
Fabric / sarees includes Handloom Silk, Handloom Silk Cotton, Kota Silk, Jamdaani, Chiffon / Georgettes. Fabrics with 120s and above GSM which are very thin and light weight and not strong enough to hold the shoulder stretch.
Do we use lining in Blouses ?
Yes, for all Handloom Silk, Handloom Silk Cotton, Jamdaani, Kota Silk, Fine Yarn fabrics with Counts of 150 and above, we go for inner cotton rich lining in the Blouses.
Is it possible to get the Blouses altered again through us?
No. We advice Customers to get minor alterations done at your end to save courier costs and delay in transit time.

Do we communicate or connect you to our Master tailor to accept any special requests of sizing?
Yes. Before the fabric is cut, someone from vemshala team will reach out to you. We will share the possibilities of borders and patterns and take your consent before cutting.
However, we don't entertain any special add ons in the Blouse due to sourcing issues of such accessories.
